Conservation and Management
Conservation Status
The Silky-tailed Nightjar is listed as a Species of Least Concern on the IUCN global Red List of Threatened Species.
Effects of Human Activity
This species is rare throughout its range. Both populations are susceptible to habitat loss and with the Atlantic Forest and the Amazon Basin constantly threatened with human development (e.g. dams, trans-continental highways), known populations of the Silky-tailed Nightjar may rapidly decline.
