Parker et al. (1996) categorize the Green-headed Tanager as "common" relative to other neotropical birds, with its center of abundance in the lower tropical elevational zone. There is no information related to topics such as age at first breeding, life span and survivorship, dispersal, or population regulation for the Green-headed Tanager.
