Priorities for Future Research

Studies of populations of banded birds could yield more information on the natural history of wild birds. Much work was done by Hardy on captive birds, but in the wild birds it was difficult to determine which adult birds in the breeding groups were performing various duties such as incubation, nest building, nest inspection and feeding of young. It would be particularly interesting to see how duties between the lead male and female vary.

Annual changes in social organization are not well understood, nor is the potential for dispersal between different social groups.
