Yellow-lored Parrot Amazona xantholora

  • Order: Psittaciformes
  • Family: Psittacidae
  • Monotypic
  • Authors: Morgan Wade and Cameron K. Ghalambor

There is very little information on the reproductive biology of Yellow-lored Parrot, especially from wild birds. A male collected in March in Mexico was in breeding condition (Paynter 1955), and nests with young are reported from Belize in April and May (Russell 1964). They nest in hollow trees or stumps and lay 4-5 eggs with an incubation period of 22-28 days (Collar 1997).
