Distribution in the Americas

It distributes from eastern México to Colombia. In Mexico it is found in mountains of San Luis Potosí, Puebla, Veracruz, Oaxaca, and Chiapas.

It is a resident species, common to frequent. Its distributional range has been calculated in approximately 257,000 km2, and global population has not been quantified.
