Diet

Like other Elaenia, the White-crested Elaenia is omnivorous. It regularly consumes small fruit, at least when not breeding, but takes small insects as well. The diet has not been studied in detail; fruits reported to be part of the diet include Ribes (Williamson 1975); and Schinus molle and Lanthana (Fjeldså amd Krabbe 1990).
