Distribution in the Americas

White-browed Conebill is resident along the east slope of the Andes of Peru and Bolivia. Distribution in Peru of White-browed Conebill. Solid circles: specimen records; open circles: sight records; dotted line: 1000 m contour (Schulenberg et al. 2006).It occurs north at least to the department of San Martín, Peru (Schulenberg et al. 2010), and south to Cochabamba and Santa Cruz, Bolivia (Hennessey et al. 2003).

The elevational range of White-browed Conebill in Peru is 2600–4100 m (Schulenberg et al. 2010), and in Bolivia is 2200-3800 m (Hennessey et al. 2003).

Distribution outside the Americas

Endemic to the Americas.


White-browed Conebill occupies elfin forest, the edge of humid montane forest, in shrubbery in páramo, including shrubbery mixed with Polylepis, and in semi-humid Polylepis woods (Parker and O'Neill 1980, Fjeldså and Krabbe 1990, Schulenberg et al. 2010).
