Distribution in the Americas
White-faced Quail-Dove is resident in highland regions from Mexico south to northwestern Nicaragua. The distribution is discontinuous. In Mexico, the quail-dove occurs in Jalisco, southern Oaxaca, southeastern San Luis Potosí south to northern Oaxaca, and, perhaps more continuously, from Chiapas through Guatemala to northwestern Nicaragua (Dickey and van Rossen 1938, Friedmann et al. 1950, Monroe 1968, Land 1970, Binford 1989, Howell and Webb 1995, Martínez-Sánchez and Will 2010).
The elevational range of White-faced Quail-Dove is 1000-2700 m (Howell and Webb 1995, Parker et al. 1996).
