Demography and Populations

The relative abundance of the Sungrebe is assessed as uncommon (Panama, Ridgely and Gwynne 1989; Colombia; Hilty and Brown 1986; Peru, Schulenberg et al. 2007; Suriname, Haverschmidt 1968), fairly common to uncommon (Mexico, Howell and Webb 1995; Venezuela, Hilty 2003) or even locally common (Costa Rica, Stiles and Skutch 1989).
