Priorities for Future Research

Sparking-tailed Hummingbird is an attractive and widely distributed species, but its natural history remains very poorly known. Very little is known about the foraging behavior of this hummingbird, and its reproductive biology is almost completely unknown. There also is no information on such topics as population density, life span and survivorship, dispersal, or population regulation for Sparkling-tailed Hummingbird.
