Distribution in the Americas

It is distributed from Mexico to Honduras, also in Colombia and northern Argentina. In Mexico, is found in interior and adjacent slopes from Oaxaca and Chiapas to Honduras.

It is a resident species; in some places is a local visitor. It is common to uncommon throughout range (about 470,000 km2).
