Distribution in the Americas

In the nonbreeding season can make large migrations to the North Pacific and North Caribbean.

It is a common to frequent visitor in Baja California Norte between April and October; uncommon to rare in November-March. Is an uncommon to frequent visitor off coast to Central America during February-June and September-December. Global population has been estimated in approximately 20,000,000 individuals.
