Very little information. The timing of breeding is believed to be irregular, although primarily between December and March, and dependent on rainfall (Robbins et al. 1994, Cleere 1998). Prolonged periods of rain are also believed to produce more than one clutch per breeding season (Robbins et al. 1994, Cleere 1998).
No nest. Elliptical, pinkish-buff heavily speckled and scrawled brown, reddish-brown and gray eggs are laid directly on the ground upon leaf litter (Cleere 1998, Ridgely and Greenfield 2001b). Cryptic color patterns on the eggshell provide camouflage amongst its surroundings (Cleere 1998). Clutch size is between 1-2 eggs (Cleere 1998).
Egg measurements are as follows (Cleere 1998):
24.4-25.0 x 19.1-19.6 mm
Incubation period is unknown.
