Slender, long-tailed flycatcher with a relatively large head that sometimes looks peaked. Brownish gray above with a cinnamon belly and gray breast. Often wags its tail when perched.

Found in open country, sagebrush, badlands, dry barren foothills, canyons, and borders of deserts.
