Diet and Foraging


Diet varied. Stomach contents of two specimens were insects (beetles: Coleoptera, Scarabeidae, and cockroaches: Blattaria) and kernels (corn?). Items fed to nestlings included insects, lizard parts, and the pericarp of cocoa-palms (Orbignya cohune?) (Hardy 1976).
