Priorities for Future Research

Survey work is needed to determine the population status, distribution, and ecological requirements of this species. Fundación ProAves (with support from the American Bird Conservancy) is developing a conservation plan for the Sapphire-bellied Hummingbird Lepidopyga lilliae (ProAves 2009).
