Priorities for Future Research

Most aspects of the natural history of Rufous-sided Crake remain unknown. The diet is very poorly unknown, and there also is very little information on foraging and social behavior. There are only a few observations on the breeding biology of Rufous-sided Crake, with only a few nests described. There also is little or no information on age at first breeding, life span and survivorship, density, dispersal, or population regulation of Rufous-sided Crake.
