Breeding

The reproductive biology of Rufous-crowned Antpitta is completely unstudied. A female (harterti) with "developed ovaries" was collected near Guapi, Cauca Department, western Colombia in late November of 1955 (Olivares 1958) and Hilty and Brown (1986) report a male (rosenbergi) in breeding condition during mid February in Chocó. The nest, eggs, and young have not been described.
