Diet

Restinga Antwren forages on arthropods, capturing mainly Coleoptera and Formicidae (Chaves and Alves 2013). Other food items found in Restinga Antwren fecal samples were Araneae, Lepidoptera and larvae. Hymenoptera (with the exception of Formicidae) and Hemiptera were found only in fecal samples from females, while Orthoptera was found only in fecal samples from males (Chaves and Alves 2013).
