Diet and Foraging


The diet of the Masked Cardinal is known to be a mix of seeds, vegetable matter, fruit and insects. It often forages on the ground near moist areas and also on plants that are in the water (Restall et al. 2007). This species is also known to forage in the presence of humans (Jaramillo 2011).
