Diet and Foraging


Little information. The Plush-crested Jay eats insects and fruits, and probably nestlings and eggs of smaller birds (Goodwin 1976). Also eats the nuts of the Paraná pine (Araucaria angustifolia) (Voss and Sander 1980), and freshly planted corn (W. Foster, in Chubb 1910).
