Breeding

Very little is known about the reproductive efforts and timing of Pied-crested Tit-Tyrant. Records of juvenile birds and enlarged gonads found in specimens suggest the breeding season is between November-March. Fjeldså and Krabbe (1990) report records of juveniles in November (Lima); immature birds in November (Lima), February (Ancash), April and May (Arequipa); and a bird with enlarged gonads in March (Apurimac).
