Conservation Status

Pale-vented Pigeon has an extremely large range, is common throughout range, and has an extremely large population size. Consequently its IUCN Red List conservation status is assessed as Least Concern (BirdLife International 2013).

Effects of human activity on populations

Prefers deforested region to heavily forested habitats, thus it appears that it would benefit, at least in the short term, from human interference in tropical zones (Slud 1964). At least in some areas Pale-vented Pigeons are hunted, but there is no documentation that hunting threatens the population.
