Diet and Foraging


Opal-crowned Tanagers feed on a mixed diet of both terrestrial invertebrates and fruit, similar to other members of the genus Tangara (Isler and Isler 1987, Hilty 2011), but its diet is not known in any detail. Only fruit was reported in a small sample (n = 3) of stomachs (Isler and Isler 1987).
