Distinguishing Characteristics

21.5 - 24.0 cm. 75 - 85 g. Plumage green with throat and chest olive-brown. Whitish around the eye. Eyes orange. Bill hooked. Belly yellowish. Tail pointed. Sexes are similar. Juveniles are similar to adults, but with brown eyes.

Similar Species

Aratinga holochlora is larger, with gray around the eye, with green feathers of the chest slightly yellow and some orange feathers on the throat and head.
