Priorities for Future Research

Many aspects of the life history and behavior of Olive Finch remain undescribed, with the exception of breeding biology. Food habits, interspecific interactions, and molts are also poorly understood. Additional research is needed on this species' susceptibility to forest fragmentation and degradation. Parker et al. (1996) list the research priority for the Olive Finch as medium compared to other Neotropical birds.
