Priorities for Future Research

Northern Emerald-Toucanet is relatively well-known, compared to other species of toucan. Most of the information on its natural history comes from few sites, however; for example, most of what is known about its diet is based on observations in Costa Rica. There also is no information on topics such as home range size and density or on such demographic topics as age at first breeding, life span and survivorship, dispersal, or population regulation.
