The Marbled Wood-Quail is widely distributed and is fairly common across its range. Nonetheless, the most detailed published accounts of this species are from Skutch (1947), and are based on a small number of observations from the periphery of the range of the species. To better understand this species and its overall condition, the following need to be considered:
1.Population surveys and estimates
2.More extensive behavioral observations (including mating behaviors)
3.Habitat and home range surveys
Overall, specific data for this species is quite lacking. Most recorded data are occurrence observations. Information for the criteria listed above is either lacking or absent. To fully understand this species and its life history, further studies need to be carried out.
