Priorities for Future Research

Monitoring of the numerical status of Lesser Yellow-headed Vulture in areas where wetlands are declining seems warranted. The possibility of increasing numbers of Turkey Vulture (Cathartes aura) displacing Lesser Yellow-headed Vultures also should be investigated. Seasonal movements of this species are unclear, so should be explored using satellite telemetry.
