Priorities for Future Research

As proposed by BirdLife International (2013), further survey work is desperately needed in potentially viable habitat within the potential range of Jocotoco Antpitta. New populations should then receive immediate conservation action. In addition, like most antpittas, the behavior, reproduction, diet, and habitat requirements of Jocotoco Antpitta are still in need of further study. Only with such basic natural history information available will future conservation actions be most effective should other populations be discovered.
