Priorities for Future Research

For such an interesting bird, relatively little is known about the Horned Screamer, especially in comparison with other species of screamers, such as the Southern Screamer Chauna torquata (Naranjo 1986).

Areas that in particular would benefit from further research are demographics and population trends, about which very little is known and which could be very important in future conservation assessments.
