Diet and Foraging
Introduction
Information on diet is limited for Hooded Grosbeak. They are considered granivores and frugivores, consuming "mostly seeds, buds, berries, and fruit" (Clement 2010). Specific items reported in the diet include bromeliad leaves and fruiting Citharexylum mocinnii and Rhamnus capraeifolia (Gómez de Silva et al. 1999) and Magnolia schiedana (Felger 1971).
