Sounds and Vocal Behavior

Vocalizations

Like other species in Tangara, the Golden-naped Tanager does not have elaborate vocalizations. The call notes are quick, extremely high pitched and monotone. The notes are given in a strict unchanging rate with no variety. Schulenberg et al. (2007) describe the notes as high tsip and tee notes that sometimes occur in rapid discordant phrases.

Additional recordings of vocalizations of the Golden-naped Tanager can be heard at xeno-canto.

Nonvocal Sounds

None reported.
