Legend Overview
Introduction
The Golden-fronted Redstart is a beautiful warbler of the Andes of Colombia and Venezuela. The species is dark gray above and yellow below; with a yellow face, black hindcrown, thin white ear patch, and a black tail with white outer rectrices. It is common in montane forest and edge habitats from 2400-3400 meters in elevation, where it forages in small flocks on insects near the ground. Golden-fronted Redstart is one of a number of allospecies of Myioborus "whitestarts", replaced to the north in the Andes by White-fronted Redstart (Myioborus albifrons) and to the south by Spectacled Redstart (Myioborus melanocephalus).
