Priorities for Future Research

Parker et al (1996) categorizes the Golden-eared Tanager as a medium research priority relative to other Neotropical birds. Little is known, howver, about the natural history of the Golden-eared Tanager. In particular, there is little information on its breeding or nesting behavior. In addition, there is not much data about molts, territoriality, sexual behavior, population size and trends, and demography.
