Introduction
As one of only two truly lowland species of Grallaria, Elusive Antpitta may have very different life history strategies than their more montane congeners. As nothing is known about any aspect of its ecology, behavior, reproduction, or population genetics (nor for the closely related Ochre-striped Antpitta Grallaria dignissima), any studies of this poorly known species are desperately needed. Of particular importance are studies that evaluate the effects of forest fragmentation and the of the dispersal abilities of Elusive Antpitta.
