Priorities for Future Research

Coppery Metaltail is common to very common, but inhabits a very humid, inhospitable environment and has a very restricted geographic range. Not surprisingly, its natural history is not well known. There is little information available regarding the range of flowering plants visited by this species, and no information on its reproductive biology. There also is no information regarding demographic factors such as life span and survivorship, dispersal, or population regulation for Coppery Metaltail.
