Priorities for Future Research

Parker et al. (1996) rate the research priority for Cinnamon Tanager as "low"compared to other Neotropical birds. However, recent research has called into question the subspecies limits and other studies have shown range extensions. Thus, further research should be done to obtain additional information about these aspects of their biology. Population level analyses of genetic data across the distribution are needed. In addition, little is known about the sexual behavior and reproductive behaviors of Cinnamon Tanager.
