Diet and Foraging


Oportunistic. Feeds on carrion, and live animals which include but are not limited to rabbits, rats, lizards, frogs, toads, earthworms, birds, insects and insect larvae. Looks for food by an obvious terrestrial behaviour, walking or running on the paramo (Global Raptor Information Network, 2016).
