Diet and Foraging

Diet

Bronzy Inca is primarily nectarivorous, and visits flowers of plants such as Fuchsia, Bomarea, Cavendishia, Centropogon, Heliconia, Siphocampylus, and Guzmania (Züchner 1999, Peter Hoell personal observations). This inca also feeds on small arthropods, as do most if not all species of hummingbirds (Remsen et al. 1983).
