Sounds and Vocal Behavior

Vocalizations

The song of Black-chinned Antbird is "an accelerating, rising series of modulated, rising whistles that descends slightly at the end with much more buzzy notes: whee wee-wee'wee'wi'wi'wiwiwidz'dz'dzee" (Lane, in Schulenberg et al. 2007). The song of Black-chinned Antbird does not end in a series of raspy notes, as does the song of the Band-tailed Antbird (Hypocnemoides maculicauda).

Calls of the Black-chinned Antbird include "a sneezy tzeew and a descending, whistled hew" (Lane, in Schulenberg et al. 2007).

Nonvocal Sounds
