Demography and Populations

There is no information related to topics such as age at first breeding, life span and survivorship, dispersal, or population regulation for Blackish Nightjar.

A species of chigger (Eutronbicula yunkeri) was described from adult and juvenile Blackish Nightjars from Suriname (Goff and Ingels 1983). These birds were infested with chiggers that attached to the birds’ gape, orbital skin and the external vent area. No other parasites currently are known for this species (Goff and Ingels 1983).
