Black Storm-Petrel Oceanodroma melania



Nests in colonies located on rocky islands. Are monogamous. Both parents incubate the egg.

Nesting period begins in April and May and eggs are laid in April and June. The nest is placed in a rock crevice or in a burrow dug by another species. Nest is sometimes lined with leaves. Puts 1 egg, white. Incubation takes 18 days. The chicks leave the nest in August and October.
