Plumages
The following description refers to nominate rufocinerea; see also Geographic Variation:
Adult: Sexes similar. Adult Bicolored Antpittas are simply-plumaged and easily described. The head, throat, upperparts, wings, and tail are nearly uniform rufous-brown or ferruginous red. The throat feathers are somewhat variable, but are very slightly more rufous than the upperparts and have gray bases giving an indistinct mottled or speckled appearance. The underparts vary from gray to sooty gray, with the central belly tending towards whitish. Gray feathers of the breast, sides, and flanks narrowly edged whitish, giving a slightly scaled appearance, especially in certain light conditions.
Molts
Undescribed.
Bare Parts
Iris: dark brown
Bill: black
Tarsi and toes: gray to brownish gray
