Diet and Foraging


They have a very varied diet that includes seeds, buds, tubers and insects, preferring Crotalaria and Desmodium seeds. They also consume sunflower seeds, thistle, corn, Croton, beans and sesame seeds, and insects such as beetles and butterfly larvae.
