Demography and Populations

Parker et al. (1996) categorize the Bay-headed Tanager as "fairly common" and "patchily distributed" relative to other neotropical birds. Terborgh et al. (1990) estimated a population density of 6 individuals per 100 hectacres at one site in southeastern Peru.  There is no information related to topics such as age at first breeding, life span and survivorship, dispersal, or population regulation.
