Conservation Status

Azure-crowned Hummingbird has a large geographic range and so the IUCN Red List conservation status of this species is Least Concern. This species is included in Appendix II of CITES, as is the case with all hummingbirds, regardless of rarity (except for Hook-billed Hermit Glaucis dohrnii, which is on Appendix I of CITES). Under Mexican law, Azure-crowned Hummingbird is not considered to be threatened.

Effects of human activity on populations

Human activity probably has little short term effect on Azure-crowned Hummingbird; no threats are identified by BirdLife International (2013).
