Agami Heron Agamia agami



They do several displays as "dance and twist", "bill clatter", "Crest erection". They live in small colonies shared with other herons especially with the Boat-billed Heron (Cochlearius cochlearius).

Breeding occurs from June to September. The nest is a circular platform done with fine twigs and placed between 1 and 3 m above water. They nest in swamps bordered by mangroves. Clutch size is 2, unusually 3. Eggs are green-blue.
