Agami Heron Agamia agami




The search resources in vegetation borders or hanging plants. Fishes are captured in ponds or moving water in rivers.

Social and interspecific behavior

Usually this is a solitary species. It is a secretive species that usually hides in shadowed sites with dense vegetation. When alarmed they fly abruptly or try to climb secretively on a tree. It is unusual to see this bird in open sites.
