As the name implies, Antillean Crested Hummingbird is one of the few hummingbirds with a crest, and is widely distributed in the Lesser Antilles. It occurs in edge habitats, clearings, and developed areas, where it feeds on nectar from a variety of flowers and on small arthropods. The cup nest is placed on a branch in vegetation. This species occurs throughout the Lesser Antilles, including Barbados, and in eastern Puerto Rico. It has been recorded as a vagrant in Florida, USA.
